Today Bursa Technical University, Representative Ms. Alev Cuydur held a meeting with Egerton University management to discuss collaboration on faculty exchange programmes and exploring the establishment of an Erasmus office at Egerton University.
The meeting held at the Vice Chancellor’s Boardroom deliberated on how to open up new avenues for academic growth, and innovation, between Egerton University and Bursa Technical University in positioning Egerton University as a prominent player in international higher education networks.
A key agenda item was the establishment of an Erasmus Office within Egerton University. The office aims to serve as a dedicated coordination hub for all Erasmus-related activities, grants mobilization , and providing support services to students and staff participating in exchange programmes.
On behalf of the Vice Chancellor- Prof. Isaac Kibwage, DVC- Academic Affairs Prof. Bernard Aduda emphasized the university's commitment to providing diverse global learning experiences for its students and faculty. He welcomed the idea of establishing an Erasmus office, which would serve as coordination hub for joint projects and academic collaboration.

Prof. Aduda expressed strong support for this initiative, highlighting its role in elevating the university’s international profile terming it has one of the active collaboration where Academic staff and students have largely benefited.
Erasmus representative Ms. Alev Cuydur, a Lecturer at Bursa Technical University -Turkey and Head of International Relations Office provided insights into the operational framework, benefits, and benefits of setting up the Erasmus Office. This will include also offering guidance on funding opportunities and especially in the new area of material Science.

With the DVC, were Prof. George Owuor- Director of Research and Extension ( on the right) and Dr. Dickson Makanji- Director- Chemeron Campus, Egerton University.
According to Prof. George Owuor- Director of Research and Extension who is also the Chair of Erasmus Selection Commitee, University Academic staff and students have already benefited from the collaboration with another student going for the exchange programme in September this year on the same arrangement.
Dr. Dickson Makanji- Director Egerton University Chemeron campus as one of the Coordinators for the programme, applauded the collaboration adding that the existing Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) between the two Institutions has further extended exchange programme opprtunities to students and will bring more on board through the potential setup of Erasmus regional office at Egerton University.
